Product Design in Uganda: The Rise of SASA College of Industrial Design (SCiD)

Product design is a rapidly growing field in Uganda, as the country's manufacturing industry continues to expand. However, until recently, there has been no dedicated institution in Uganda that offers formal training in product design. This has made it difficult for aspiring product designers to get the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the industry.

That is all about to change since the launch of SASA College of Industrial Design. SCiD is the first official product school in Uganda, and it is poised to make a major contribution to the country's product design industry.

SCiD offers a two-year diploma program in industrial design. The program covers a wide range of topics, including:

  • Prototyping and manufacturing
  • 3D modeling and CAD
