About the Program
To highlight the real world impact of SASA College’s training model, the Commercial Leather Utilization Project centers on Miriam Esther Muwanga, a graduate from the college’s pioneer class of the Advanced Certificate in Industrial Design. Demonstrating the caliber of talent developed at SASA, Muwanga designed an innovative leather bag that won two separate national competitions: first, a project proposal grant organized by the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) on utilizing Uganda’s leather, and subsequently a second competition organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation to further advance her work.
With this kind of impact from a student from only our pioneer class, that was a great milestone.
